The Cordova Wolverines waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They really took it to Susitna Valley for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-42 win at home. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Cordova also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Leading Cordova to victory were John Itliong and Noah Pearson. Itliong scored 13 points, while Pearson scored 14 points. Pearson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Calvin Fry was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Cordova pushed their record up to 3-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Susitna Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
