 Ileyah Sanchez was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Sanchez was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.

 Santa Clara's victory was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 3-4. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for MacDonald, their  victory (their first of the  season) made their record 1-2.
