The Fayetteville Lions's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Weimar Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on November 28th. Hopefully Fayetteville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Fayetteville lost to Iola on the road by a decisive 57-42 margin.
Fayetteville's loss came about despite a quality game from Marissa Rohde, who scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds. Rohde is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Rylie Dyer was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 6 assists.
Meanwhile, Weimar had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 61-14 victory over Nordheim on the road.
Fayetteville now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Weimar, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
Fayetteville took a serious blow against Weimar when the teams last played back in December of 2020, falling 51-23. Can Fayetteville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
