Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Katee Owens stepped things up a notch to give William Blount the 'W'. Owens wasn't messing around, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. The pitching appearance was her fourth straight with eight or more strikeouts.

Looking ahead, Owens and William Blount will head out to challenge Hardin Valley Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Governors got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Hawks thanks in part to Owens: she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched.
