The Roosevelt Rough Riders will head out on the road to face off against the Tallmadge Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Roosevelt didn't have too much trouble with Aurora on the road as they won 58-44. The victory was just what Roosevelt needed coming off of a 64-30 defeat in their prior matchup.
Roosevelt's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grant Leslie, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for him. Jeremiah Lepp was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Tallmadge scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-53 victory over Cuyahoga Falls.
Roosevelt's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Tallmadge, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Roosevelt couldn't quite finish off Tallmadge when the teams last played back in February and fell 59-57. Can Roosevelt avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
