The South Walton Seahawks will challenge the Suwannee Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
South Walton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand West Nassau an 8-0 shutout. The Seahawks are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 18 straight.

Coleman Borthwick made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.
In other pitching news, Denton Lord tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jackson Perkins, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Lucas Caraway was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
South Walton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Nassau only posted an OBP of .240.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Suwannee, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over West Florida on Thursday.
Not much got past G Garcia, who gave up just two hits to keep West Florida off the board.
At the plate, Kyler Watson was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Caiden Jenkins, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three runs.
Suwannee is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for South Walton, they pushed their record up to 28-3 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. South Walton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Suwannee struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
South Walton came up short against Suwannee in their previous meeting back in April of 2021, falling 6-1. Can the Seahawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
