Forest Hills has gone 9-1 against Penn Cambria recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Rangers will take on the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Forest Hills will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Forest Hills gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Westmont Hilltop. Considering the Rangers have won nine matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Forest Hills let Maddox Dombrosky and Bryce Roberts run wild. Dombrosky went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Roberts went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Dombrosky a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Williamson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Forest Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westmont Hilltop only posted an OBP of .407.
Meanwhile, Penn Cambria hadn't done well against Bishop Guilfoyle recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Panthers walked away with an 8-4 win over the Marauders. The victory was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.
Caden Gibbons and Preston Farabaugh did most of the damage at the plate: Gibbons went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Farabaugh got on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Corbin Vinglish, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Forest Hills is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Penn Cambria, their record now sits at 11-6.
Everything went Forest Hills' way against Penn Cambria in their previous matchup back in March, as Forest Hills made off with a 13-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rangers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
