It was a good run, but the Baldwin Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 53-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Blue Valley Southwest.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Blue Valley Southwest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lily Unruh, who scored ten points along with four steals. Unruh is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Chaput, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds.
Baldwin's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Blue Valley Southwest, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Baldwin will head out on the road to square off against Osawatomie at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Osawatomie will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 346th, while Baldwin is ranked 144th). Blue Valley Southwest won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lansing at 5:15 p.m. on January 25th. Lansing has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
