The St. Augustine Yellow Jackets put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Palatka 41-6 at home. The result was nothing new for St. Augustine, who have now won five matches by 35 points or more so far this season.
Devonte Lyons continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 132 yards and three touchdowns. Lyons hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for four straight games. Locklan Hewlett was another key contributor, throwing for 199 yards and two touchdowns.
St. Augustine's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-0. As for Palatka, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-3.
St. Augustine will be playing at home against Middleburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Middleburg will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 164th, while St. Augustine is ranked 24th). Palatka will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Eastside at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th.
