It may have taken  nine innings to finish the job, but South Beloit ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past Lincoln Academy  8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Sobos have posted  since April 5th.
 JT Sanders and  Richard Carlson were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound,  Sanders   struck out seven batters over  3.1 innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   three  hits. Meanwhile,  Carlson   tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  Sanders has posted since back in May of 2024. At the plate,  Sanders  got on base  in three of his six plate appearances with two  runs and one  RBI, while  Carlson  got on base  in four of his six plate appearances with one  home run and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Gage Pasiecznik was  excellent,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  run and one  RBI.
South Beloit's win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Lincoln Academy,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 0-2.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Beloit will host Christian Liberty  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Sobos are facing the Chargers at the right time seeing as the Chargers are stuck on  a  seven-game losing streak. As for Lincoln Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the  loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Winnebago at 5:00  p.m.  on  the 17th.
