The Saginaw Rough Riders will be playing at home against the Brewer Bears at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Saginaw focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
Saginaw lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They were dealt a 58-26 defeat at the hands of Aledo. While losing is never fun, Saginaw can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 809th, while Aledo is ranked 133rd).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jazmine Duncan, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Brewer can now show off 16 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They blew past Northwest 76-19 at home. The victory was familiar territory for Brewer who now have six in a row.
Saginaw has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Brewer, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-4.
Saginaw was dealt a bruising 80-12 loss at the hands of Brewer in their previous matchup on January 2nd. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Saginaw was down 37-8.
