The Vincent Yellow Jackets were the 43-8 winner over the Thorsby Rebels when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The contest between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Vincent falling 36-18. They were down 36-6 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite the loss, Vincent still got an impressive performance from Rykelus Robertson, who rushed for 225 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry.
Thorsby was led to victory by Nate Thomas and Coden Cummings. Thomas rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, while Cummings rushed for 149 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries.
Vincent's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 6-4. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Thorsby, Isabella, and Comer. As for Thorsby, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vincent will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Clarke County at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. As for Thorsby, they will head out on the road to face off against Billingsley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Billingsley is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
