The Brandon Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They lost to Middleton at home by a decisive 33-17 margin. Brandon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Middleton apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Middleton found their leader in underclassman Ayanna Blake, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Blake is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Anaja Griffin, who scored 9 points.
Brandon has yet to win a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 1-4 record. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.7 points per game. As for Middleton, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Brandon will be playing at home against Newsome at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Middleton and Hillsborough will face off at 8:00 p.m. on December 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hillsborough is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.5 points per game.
