You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Heritage Academy's strategy against Imagine Prep Coolidge on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Heritage Academy Heroes blew the Imagine Prep Coolidge Eagles out of the water with a 54-7 final score. The Heroes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Heritage Academy had a senior duo take command as Aiyana Sims dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds and Jayla Santa Cruz dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards. Heritage Academy is 11-3 when Santa Cruz posts eight or more rebounds, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenia Martin, who posted seven points in addition to nine boards and three steals.

Heritage Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 48 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Heritage Academy pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.3 points over those games. As for Imagine Prep Coolidge, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Looking ahead, Heritage Academy will take on Ridgeline Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Heritage Academy: 29.8, Ridgeline Academy: 29.4) so any points scored will be well earned. Imagine Prep Coolidge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
