Spencer dropped down to 3-4 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a blow against the Sumter County Panthers, falling 51-14. While losing is never fun, the Greenwave can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Panthers are ranked 95th).

As for Sumter County, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 47.6 points this season.

Ishmael Jones had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 62 yards and one score, while also throwing for 125 yards and one touchdown.

Looking ahead, after each having a week off, Spencer and Shaw will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. The Greenwave will be up against the Raiders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33.29 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Sumter County, they will challenge Carver at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
