On the hitting side, Riverview got a massive performance out of Tyler Aftanas, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave Aftanas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Duncan, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Highlands was able to grind out a solid win over Shady Side Academy on Tuesday, taking the game 4-0.
Kristian Kocon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
Kocon wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jake King, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. King has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
