The victory was all the more spectacular given Fellowship Christian's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while Pinecrest Academy is ranked 205th).
When it comes to explaining why Pinecrest Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Joe Frain. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 rebounds. The contest was Frain's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Peter Birozes was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Fellowship Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Pinecrest Academy, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Fellowship Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Cristo Rey Atlanta at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pinecrest Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Cornerstone Prep Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Cornerstone Prep Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday.
