The New Hartford Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Holland Patent Golden Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. New Hartford comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for New Hartford, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 47-32 loss to Oneida.
Even though Holland Patent has not done well against Proctor recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Holland Patent snuck past Proctor with a 40-34 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Holland Patent.
Michaela Cushman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Terralyn McLaughlin, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
New Hartford's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Holland Patent, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
New Hartford strolled past Holland Patent when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 44-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Hartford since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
