Zion Christian is 8-2 against Tri-Unity Christian since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Mountaineers will venture away from home to challenge the Defenders at 4:15 p.m. Zion Christian is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
On Saturday, Zion Christian made easy work of Sacred Heart Academy and carried off a 9-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Mountaineers, who have now won 13 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Ian DeRuiter was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Landon Doezema was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Levi Kloosterman was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Zion Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .524. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .421 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Tri-Unity Christian owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They came out on top against Western Michigan Christian by a score of 5-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Defenders.
Zion Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Tri-Unity Christian, their record is now 5-6.
Zion Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Tri-Unity Christian in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 4-3. Will the Mountaineers repeat their success, or do the Defenders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
