The Wesley Chapel Wildcats and the Zephyrhills Bulldogs will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Wesley Chapel knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 16 matchups -- so hopefully Zephyrhills likes a good challenge.
Wesley Chapel stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They blew past P.K. Yonge 86-58 on the road. With Wesley Chapel ahead 46-24 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Trey Murray was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with three steals. Murray is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Sian Morris, who scored 19 points.
Meanwhile, Zephyrhills had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 63-58 victory over South Sumter on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Wesley Chapel's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Zephyrhills, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Wesley Chapel came out on top in a nail-biter against Zephyrhills in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 73-71. Does Wesley Chapel have another victory up their sleeve, or will Zephyrhills turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
