Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Louisa County

Louisa County waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Freeman Mavericks get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won three games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Lily Ruckle looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Addie Talley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Alyssa Hopkins also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Louisa County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Freeman only posted an OBP of .250.

Louisa County's record now sits at 7-3. As for Freeman, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Coming up, Louisa County will be playing at home against Goochland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Freeman, they will challenge Mechanicsville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mavericks are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
