Baseball Recap: St. John's Northwestern Military Academy Takes a Loss

St. John's Northwestern Military Academy lost against Random Lake on Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lancers might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-1 to the Rams, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Damien Dax put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.

In other pitching news, St. John's Northwestern Military Academy got a good showing from Jaxon Lettenberger, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Lettenberger a new career-low.

Dax wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Connor McDonald, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

St. John's Northwestern Military Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Random Lake, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. John's Northwestern Military Academy will head out to challenge East Troy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Trojans have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Random Lake, they will head out on the road to take on Reedsville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rams 3.2, the Panthers 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
