The Conant Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Naperville North Huskies at 11:30 a.m. on Monday.
Last Thursday, Conant came up short against Barrington and fell 43-31. While losing is never fun, Conant can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 351st, while Barrington is ranked 95th).
Meanwhile, even though Plainfield South scored an imposing 62 points on Saturday, Naperville North still came out on top. Naperville North took their matchup against Plainfield South 71-62. Winning is a bit easier when you nail eight more threes than your opponent, as Naperville North did.
Naperville North's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Natalie Frempong, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Frempong hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Podkasik, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Conant has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Naperville North, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.
