The Fairview Apaches will venture away from home to challenge the Edon Bombers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Fairview will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Hicksville on Thursday. The Apaches' pitcher stepped up to hand the Aces an 11-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Apaches in their matchups with the Aces: they've now won four in a row.

Anthony Singer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Those doubles marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, Drayden Grinnell-Dennis was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Cole Mack, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Fairview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hicksville only posted a batting average of .000.
Meanwhile, Edon hadn't done well against Holgate recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Bombers were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Tigers. Winning may never get old, but the Bombers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Like Fairview, Edon also got a great game from a two-way player: Kyler Sapp. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Sapp has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Edon is 5-1 when Sapp posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise.
In other batting news, Kadin Stantz was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and two RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Radabaugh, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
Fairview pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Edon, their record is now 8-5.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Fairview has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. However, it's not like Edon struggles in that department as they've averaged .461. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Fairview's way against Edon in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Fairview made off with a 7-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Apaches since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
