The Williamsville East Flames were the 53-26 winner over the West Seneca West Warhawks when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Williamsville East was outmatched by West Seneca West at home and fell 74-32.
West Seneca West found their leader in underclassman Jayden Ecker, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten steals. That's the first time this season that Ecker scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Gunnells, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Williamsville East now has a losing record at 1-2. As for West Seneca West, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Williamsville East will take on Sweet Home at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for West Seneca West, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hamburg at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Hamburg's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
