Bucktail saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keller Friese, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Those RBI were Friese's first of the season. Another was Nick Dennis, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Benton earned an 8-3 victory over Millville on Friday.
Ben Farwell made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Wayne Osborne, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Dalton Koch was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Benton's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Bucktail, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
