This season hasn't been kind to the Central Red Devils, who are still winless after their fifth match. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 58-35 walloping at the hands of Dexter on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Central has scored all season.
Dexter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ethan Doherty, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Doherty is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kellen Peavey, who scored 14 points.
Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Dexter, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Central will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Penquis Valley at 1:30 p.m. on December 30th. Dexter will be home for the holidays to greet Penobscot Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maine (Penobscot Valley is ranked 58th, while Dexter is ranked 37th).
