Carrick has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Westinghouse Bulldogs at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
On Saturday, Carrick was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-46 to South Park.
Meanwhile, Westinghouse had to suffer through a rough 100-21 loss at the hands of Taylor Allderdice. While losing is never fun, Westinghouse can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 663rd, while Taylor Allderdice is ranked 27th).
Carrick has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Westinghouse, they bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Carrick didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Westinghouse when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 56-51 win. Will Carrick repeat their success, or does Westinghouse have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
