Even though the Belle Chasse Cardinals have not done well against the Phoenix Spartans recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Belle Chasse narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Phoenix 60-58. With that win, Belle Chasse brought their scoring average up to 51.2 points per game.
Belle Chasse can attribute much of their success to Bryce Louviere, who scored 20 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Louviere is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now stole two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Richardson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Belle Chasse's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Phoenix, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Belle Chasse will take on New Orleans Charter Science & Math at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. New Orleans Charter Science & Math has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Phoenix, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Plaquemines at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully South Plaquemines focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday.
