While First Christian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Corinth Christian Academy Warriors on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Victoria Loehr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, First Christian got a massive performance out of Corie Wheeler, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Roniyah Bennett was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

Wheeler wasn't the only one making solid contact: First Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.

First Christian pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Corinth Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

First Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-2 loss against Countryside Christian on the 4th. As for Corinth Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 17-7 victory against Hope Christian Academy on the 4th.
