The St. Anthony Bulldogs came tearing into Thursday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Brownstown by a score of 54-47. That's another feather in the cap for St. Anthony, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Brownstown's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lexi Seabaugh, who scored 18 points. Dayana Haslett was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
St. Anthony has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Brownstown, their loss dropped their record down to 20-5.
St. Anthony on the road again on Saturday and play against Altamont at 7:00 p.m. on January 20th. Altamont will be looking to extend their current 19-game winning streak. As for Brownstown, they will take on Dieterich at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Dieterich focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday.
