Livonia has won four straight games at home, while Le Roy has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Bulldogs will welcome the Oatkan Knights at 7:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
If Livonia beats Le Roy with seven runs on Monday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Bulldogs beat East on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-5.
The team relied heavily on Jake Benitez, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Beardsley, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Le Roy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Sunday. They skirted past Dansville 3-2. The Oatkan Knights haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Alex Spezzano spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Le Roy's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Adam Woodworth, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Livonia has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Le Roy, their victory bumped their record up to 14-3.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Livonia has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .439. However, it's not like Le Roy struggles in that department as they've averaged .435. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Livonia suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Le Roy when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
