Brooklyn Community Arts & Media has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Summit Academy Eagles at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Brooklyn Community Arts & Media posted their biggest win yet this season on Thursday. They put the hurt on Robeson Business Tech with a sharp 52-26 victory.
Meanwhile, Summit Academy waltzed into their game on Monday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 109-7 win over Morel Campos. Summit Academy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Amerie Santana was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 35 points, 14 rebounds, and 13 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmyne Rios, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds.
Brooklyn Community Arts & Media's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37 points. As for Summit Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.
Brooklyn Community Arts & Media came up short against Summit Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2017, falling 83-77. Thankfully for Brooklyn Community Arts & Media, Daysiah Smith (who scored 31 points along with seven steals and six assists) won't be suiting up this time.
