Fairview is 8-2 against the Yellowjackets since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Fairview Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Girard Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. Fairview is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
Fairview scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Northwestern 68-40 on the road.
Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Girard's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 56-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mercyhurst Prep. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Girard came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Lakers are ranked 267th).
Fairview's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Girard, their loss ended a 14-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 16-2.
Fairview came up short against the Yellowjackets when the teams last played back in January, falling 49-36. Can Fairview avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
