The St. Mary's-Colgan Panthers took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They blew past Columbus 67-32 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-13.
Despite the defeat, Columbus had strong showings from Katy Mooney, who scored 14 points, and Ellie Helms, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
St. Mary's-Colgan's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Columbus, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
St. Mary's-Colgan will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Oswego at 6:00 p.m. Columbus will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cherryvale at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th.
