The Lincoln Railsplitters will face off against the Hanover-Horton Comets at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lincoln comes in on three and Hanover-Horton on six.
Lincoln's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Huron as they made off with a 22-0 win. The Railsplitters might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 13 runs or more this season.

Alyssa Strickland made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Strickland was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with four runs and one RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on McKaylie Kern, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those stolen bases were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Taylor Pinter, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Lincoln was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Hanover-Horton posted their closest victory since May 18, 2024 on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bronson, sneaking past 2-0.
Like Lincoln, Hanover-Horton also got a great game from a two-way player: Alexyn DuBois. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. DuBois has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI.
Lincoln's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average this season. As for Hanover-Horton, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lincoln hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .482. However, it's not like Hanover-Horton struggles in that department as they've averaged .408. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lincoln skirted past Hanover-Horton 11-10 in their previous meeting back in April of 2016. Will the Railsplitters repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
