Lewiston has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Coeur d'Alene Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lewiston will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Idaho Rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Coeur d'Alene is ranked fourth).
Last Monday, Lewiston didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Moscow, but they still walked away with a 49-44 victory.
Meanwhile, Coeur d'Alene came up short against Lake City on Friday and fell 54-45.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Teagan Colvin, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Colvin is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Maddie Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Lewiston's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Coeur d'Alene, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.
Lewiston took a serious blow against Coeur d'Alene in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 70-34. Can Lewiston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
