Ava Ratliff was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 12 matches. Another player making a difference was Bella Warren, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Bedford North Lawrence was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bloomington North only posted a batting average of .179.
Meanwhile, Seymour unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 5-1 to Bloomington South.
Taylor Stuckwisch spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on eight hits and racked up 14 Ks.
At the plate, Seymour saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Delaney Warren, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Bedford North Lawrence's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Seymour, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bedford North Lawrence hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .354. However, it's not like Seymour struggles in that department as they've averaged .324. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bedford North Lawrence was able to grind out a solid victory over Seymour in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Stars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
