Softball Recap: Bloomfield Has No Trouble Against Barringer

Bloomfield's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Barringer Blue Bears. The Bengals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Jasmine Caylor, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Haag, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Bloomfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .697. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bloomfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Barringer, the defeat snapped their winning streak at nine games and leaves them with a 9-2 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomfield will welcome Park Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Barringer, they will host Newark Central at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
