South Summit hasn't had much luck against Grantsville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Cowboys at 3:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
South Summit took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 19-1 margin over Ben Lomond. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Scots recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Toshlyn Louder made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Mariah Bowen was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, eight RBI, and four runs. Those eight RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Malia Olson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
South Summit lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more home runs.
Meanwhile, Grantsville entered their tilt with Enterprise on Monday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wolves a 10-0 shutout.
Like South Summit, Grantsville also got a great game from a two-way player: Hayden Bytheway. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Bytheway was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emmy Butler, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Kira Hart was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run.
Grantsville's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for South Summit, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. South Summit hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .413. However, it's not like Grantsville struggles in that department as they've averaged .363. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
