The Doss Dragons entered their tilt with the Iroquois Raiders with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Doss sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 36-33 victory over the Raiders on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Doss also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Iroquois saw an underclassman step up: Maliyah Poindexter scored 22 points along with eight steals. That was a full 66.7% of Iroquois' points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Doss' win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7. As for Iroquois, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Doss will take on the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Iroquois, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Vikings at 5:45 p.m. on February 6th. Valley is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
