The Pawnee City Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Dorchester Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pawnee City has seven straight victories, Dorchester has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Pawnee City humbled Meridian with a 51-15 victory. The result was nothing new for Pawnee City, who have now won six games by 31 points or more so far this season.
Pawnee City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jett Farwell, who picked up 68 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Anthony Kling was in the mix too, providing Pawnee City with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Dorchester was beaten by Parkview Christian 54-17 on Friday.
Pawnee City's win was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Dorchester, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
Everything came up roses for Pawnee City against Dorchester in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 50-20 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pawnee City since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
