The Vintage Crushers were the 65-39 winner over the Napa Grizzlies when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Vintage fell to Napa 47-43.
Vintage's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brady Hearn, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Marroquin, who scored ten points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Napa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eli Mindle, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Mindle pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Christian Williams, who scored 15 points.
Vintage's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 8-10. As for Napa, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vintage will challenge American Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. American Canyon presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Vintage in California (American Canyon is ranked 179th, while Vintage is ranked 500th). As for Napa, they will head out on the road to square off against Mt. Eden at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
