The Elyria Catholic Panthers can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Buckeye 61-28 at home. The victory was nothing new for Elyria Catholic as they're now sitting on four straight.
Elyria Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isabelle Niederst led the charge by scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Niederst is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Camara Ogletree was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Morgan Penny and Molly Danilovic certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Penny scored six points, while Danilovic scored six points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Danilovic pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Elyria Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Buckeye, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.
Elyria Catholic will head out on the road to challenge Holy Name at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Holy Name will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 513th, while Elyria Catholic is ranked 132nd). As for Buckeye, they will be playing at home against Rocky River at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Rocky River focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Wednesday.
