Basketball Recap: Jada Washington's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Jefferson Christian Academy over Westminster School at Oak Mountain

Jefferson Christian Academy was the 37-29 winner over Westminster School at Oak Mountain when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Jefferson Christian Academy Eagles fell just short of the Westminster School at Oak Mountain Knights by a score of 49-46 on Friday.

Jefferson Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jada Washington, who posted 26 points. With that strong performance, Washington is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison DeJarnette, who earned 14 points.

Jefferson Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Westminster School at Oak Mountain, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Jefferson Christian Academy will square off against Coosa Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westminster School at Oak Mountain, they and Alabama Christian Academy will face off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
