South Carroll has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Liberty Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Friday, South Carroll was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-42 to the Falcons. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points South Carroll has scored all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Liberty's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 66-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Winters Mill. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (56), Liberty still had to take the loss.
South Carroll has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Liberty, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
South Carroll didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Lions in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 70-65 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Carroll since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
