Given Beddingfield's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Greene Central is ranked 402nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Beddingfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Natasha Marshall out in front who scored 21 points along with six steals and five rebounds. The match was Marshall's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Kamyla Hill was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Beddingfield's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Greene Central, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beddingfield will square off against Goldsboro at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Goldsboro will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. As for Greene Central, they will head out on the road to face off against West Craven at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
