Softball Recap: Grassfield Wins Going Away Against Oscar Smith

While Grassfield put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Oscar Smith. The Grizzlies put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Grizzlies, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Haley Trumbo, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. Hayden Russel also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Grassfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Grassfield's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Oscar Smith, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Grizzlies 1.9, the Hawks 0.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Oscar Smith is set to take on their familiar foe Indian River at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
