If the St. Agnes Academy Stars were feeling good off their 57-25 takedown of the Westminster Academy Defenders last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. St. Agnes Academy suffered a tough 58-33 defeat at the hands of the Saints on Thursday. While losing is never fun, St. Agnes Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Saints are ranked 103rd).
Leading Briarcrest Christian to victory were Kendall Jones and Hallie Turner. Jones scored 11 points along with eight steals, while Turner scored ten points along with five assists and five rebounds. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Ellen Adair was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.
St. Agnes Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Briarcrest Christian, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-10.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing St. Mary's Episcopal the next time they take the court. St. Agnes Academy will host the Turkeys at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Saints will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
