7A District 10 recap Oct. 30, 2012
Manatee extended the longest winning streak in 7A District 10 this week by beating Palmetto, 62-0. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Manatee took down the Tigers 62-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Trevon Walters ran for 156 yards and caught two passes for 42 yards in the win.
Manatee's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hurricanes feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Cord Sandberg has thrown for 1517 yards and 20 touchdowns this season, while Marquel Hines has 23 catches for 473 yards. Walters leads the league in rushing with 763 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Joe Kinnan's team takes on Sarasota. The Hurricanes are in first place, while the Sailors are in third place.
Braden River made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,266 from 9,569.
